Summer update

We hope you’re enjoying the summer season despite the changing weather. To make the remainder of summer even more enjoyable, we would like to draw your attention to the following service announcements:

Parking
Berth holders park for free at Jachthaven Wetterwille. In order to guarantee sufficient parking space for all, we kindly ask you to park only 1 car per berth and to do so within the marked parking spaces. Additional cars and/or visitors can park at the marina office for an additional fee, depending on availability. If you are experiencing problems with our parking app Kuario, please contact the office.

Waste management
We are proud to announce that we were once again awarded the Blue Flag and Green Pennant. As an environmentally friendly marina, we hope that you’ll contribute to the environment together with us. This can be done, for example, by reducing your residual waste and recycling your PMD (plastic, metal cans and beverage cartons) by depositing it in clear plastic bags. For this, we have provided a cage on the Interboat side and a PMD bin on the Wetterwille side. We would also like to remind you that DIY waste and large waste (inflatables, parasols, household goods, chairs, boat parts, etc.) do not belong in our containers or bins. You are kindly requested to dispose of this yourself. If you have any questions, you can always contact our office.

Pump-out station
Berth holders and transients can empty their waste tank free of charge at our pump-out station. Charter boats and visitors pay € 3 per tap. The bilge tank can be emptied at a fee. For our service prices, we kindly refer you to our website.

Rental
Fancy a day of sailing? Then rent one of our Polyvalks. We also rent out two electric sloops and a lounge boat, that is accessible for wheelchairs. Wheelchair users and their company receive a 33% discount on the rental price. You can book via the rental page of our website.

Restaurants
Throughout the summer, you can enjoy a delicious meal at Brasserie Wetterwille and Restaurant Anderz. A drink with a view followed by a pleasant lunch or dinner? Bon appétit or as we say in the Netherlands: Smakelijk!

We wish you a wonderful month of August and hope to see you soon at the marina.

- Haul-out subject to weather conditions and technical planning.
- Haul-out appointments for indoor storage must be made at the beginning of October.
- In case of outdoor storage, boats that are hauled out late, will be launched again early next season.
- Boats must be insured for all winter storage.

- For storage of masts, engines or batteries as well as boat repairs and service, please contact the marina office.

Parking at Jachthaven Wetterwille

We regularly receive questions about our parking app Kuario. To further improve your experience, we hereby list the most common problems:

- Bad connection: the app is connected to the internet and works best via mobile data (4g or 5g). If you are automatically connected to the marina's network, try temporarily switching off the WiFi on your phone before scanning the QR code.
- App keeps loading: the app does not work while using another app. If you are calling hands-free from the car and want to open the barrier at the same time, the app will continue to load. Please hang up and then scan again.
- App keeps loading even when you’re not making a call: Try closing and reopening the app. If it still doesn't work, ring at the gate and stop by the marina office with your phone afterwards.
- Log in: after an update you sometimes have to log in again. Always do this with the e-mail address known to us and your chosen password. If you forgot your password, click on the link to request a new one and remember it well because you will need it after every update.
- App asks to top up: as a berth holder, topping up is never necessary. If you get this message, check whether you are logged in with the e-mail address known to us. You can do this by clicking on the settings icon in the top right corner. If you are logged in with a different email, log out (click on account and then log out) and log in again with the correct email address. If you are logged in with the correct e-mail address and the app still asks you to top up , stop by the marina office with your phone.
- Pin code: if you have set a pin code and want to disable it to save time at the gate, click on the settings icon, then security and pin code. You will have to enter your chosen PIN code one more time to turn it off.

We would like to reiterate that only one car per berth is allowed on the site. If you have visitors, they can park at the marina office for a fee of € 8 per day. Customers who park more than one car without permission will be charged.

If you have any remaining questions, we will gladly answer them at the marina office. Thank you for your cooperation!

Works in progress

The planned refurbishing of the Wetterwille walkway will start in January. The works will be completed in three phases to cause as little nuisance as possible for residents and berth holders:

- Phase 1: from the terrace of Brasserie Wetterwille to the corner of the hangar. During this phase, there will be a detour along the street to go from Interboat to Wetterwille and vice versa.
- Phase 2: the first two houseboats. During this phase, there will be access to the walkway via the small bridge at the crane.
- Phase 3: the last two houseboats. During this phase, there will be access to the walkway via temporary pontoons.

Each phase will last several weeks (depending on the weather) and we expect to start on January 20th. The work will be completed before the start of the summer season. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and we remain available in case of any questions.

The start of the season

After a winter full of ice skating fun, we are looking forward to the new boating season. Appointments to launch your boat can be made at least 1 day in advance by e-mail or telephone. Winter customers and berth holders standing in the unheated hangar are asked to make an appointment before April 1.

Of course, the corona measures are still in force, so we would like to list them again for you: • Only two people are allowed at a time in our marina office and buildings and face masks are mandatory. • On our sites and jetties as well as on the water, we ask you to keep sufficient distance and avoid congregation.

Thank you for your cooperation and see you at the marina!

Ready for Fall

Now that the Fall season has officially begun, we look back on an exceptionally busy season. The corona crisis put a sudden end to international travel and prompted us to enjoy a holiday in our own country. We welcomed regular customers and new berth owners to the marina and introduced strict safety regulations so that everyone was able to enjoy the water safely. We kindly ask you to take the existing safety measures into account and keep a distance of 1,5 m at all times. Entrance to the marina office and shower blocks is limited to two persons at a time.

Restaurant Anderz and the renewed Brasserie Wetterwille first spoiled us with delicious take-out and have been welcoming us in real life again since June. The restaurants are still the place-to-be for a pleasant afternoon or evening in the coming months.

We hope you'll enjoy the end of this beautiful boating season while we're busy planning for winter storage. Appointments for haul out can be made by phone or e-mail. Do not forget to hand in your parking key. The old system will become inoperative in November.

See you in the marina!

The old magnetic keys will stop working soon so we urge you to return them as soon as possible. We thank you for your cooperation and wish you a splendid summer!

July 1 2020

Update preventive measures concerning COVID-19

Now that June has arrived, we would like to inform you about the current situation in the marina. Brasserie Wetterwille, Restaurant Anderz and Hairdresser Bert have reopened, but of course the social distancing rules will continue to apply there and elsewhere in the marina. We therefore ask you to keep a distance of 1,5 m and still wash your hands regularly. You can find a water tap at the marina office as well as at the back of the shower building on the Interboat side.

Opening hours

During the month of June, we are open from Monday to Sunday from 8.30 AM to 5 PM.

Boat rental

Renting a Polyvalk without motor (full days only) or lounge pontoon (per hour) is possible after online reservation. Sail with several people from different families is allowed again.

Containers

The containers in the marina have been reopened. We expressly ask you to separate household waste into PMD, green waste, paper/cardboard, glass and other waste. No waste may be left in any other place, under penalty of a fine.

Parking

Our new parking system has been installed and now works via QR code. Our berth holders already received a separate e-mail about this. Old parking keys can be returned to the marina office. If you have any questions, you can reach us by phone or e-mail. From June 11, parking will be charged for non-berth holders. Berth holders will receive a separate e-mail about this next week with information and additional instructions.

Showers and toilets

Our showers and toilets remain closed until July 1. In the meantime, the urinal behind the shower block on the Interboat side can be used, as well as the outdoor toilet and water tap. We further ask you to make your own provisions. If you have a toilet on board, we kindly urge you to empty your waste tank at the pump-out near the marina office. This is free and works via self-service.

We wish you a great boating season!

June 4 2020

Update preventive measures concerning COVID-19

Now that May has arrived, we would like to inform you about the current situation in the marina. Our Blue Flag and Green Pennant are ready to be hoisted again, but first we want to update you on the preventive measures regarding the corona virus. The most important rules remain: 1. Wash your hands regularly. You will find a water tap at the marina office as well as at the back of the shower building on the Interboat side. 2. Keep your distance. Social distancing is required on our sites and pontoons as well as in the boat and on the water.

Following Prime Minister Rutte’s example, we also drew up a map of guidelines for the marina. Below, we summarise all measures and of course we remain available by e-mail or telephone in case of further questions.

Opening hours

During the month of May, we are open from Monday to Sunday from 8.30 AM to 5 PM.

Boat rental

Renting a Polyvalk without motor (full days only) or lounge pontoon (per hour) is possible after online reservation. Assistance by our marina staff is not possible.

Containers

From May 9, we will open the containers at the marina office again, but only for strictly separated household waste: PMD, green waste, paper/cardboard and glass. Please separate your waste and sort it correctly. No waste may be left in any other place, under penalty of a fine.

Hairdresser

Hairdresser Bert will open his doors again from Tuesday May 12 and will follow strict safety measures. You can make an appointment via 06-22142121.

Parking

Our renewed access system will be installed on May 20. A separate e-mail with instructions for use will follow after this date.

Restaurants

As we could hear during Prime Minister Rutte's speech, restaurants are allowed to open again from June 1. In the meantime, Restaurant Anderz offers delicious take-out. You can order via 035-5824087 and the menu can be found on their website. Brasserie Wetterwille offers coffee and sandwiches to take away from Tuesday to Sunday during the day and an Indonesian rice table and more in the evening! You can order via 035-2055017 and the menu can be found on their Facebook page.

Sanitary facilities

Also according to the Prime Minister's speech, our sanitary facilities will be allowed to open again from July 1. In the meantime, the urinal and water tap behind the shower building on the Interboat side can still be used. We are in the process of installing an outdoor toilet for emergencies and currently ask you to make your own provisions. If you have a toilet on board, we kindly urge you to empty your waste tank at the pump-out near the marina office. This is free and works via self-service.

We would like to thank everyone who has worked with us to respect the measures and we ask all our berth holders and visitors to keep it up. Now more than ever, we wish you a great boating season!

Since our cranes and boat lift are in frequent use these days, we ask you to only park in the designated parking spaces. In case the parking lot is full, please park on the street in front of the marina.

DIY

For the time being, the marina is only freely accessible to berth holders. If you come to work on your boat, we ask you to keep 1,5 m distance at all times and to avoid group formation by being present with a maximum of two people, unless members of the same family. Waste, left-over materials and empty packaging can under no circumstances be left behind and must be taken home.

Hot town, summer in the marina

Now that summer is in full swing, we gladly share the latest news with you. On May 9th, Jachthaven Wetterwille was awarded the Blue Flag for the 22nd year in a row. On top of that, we received the Green Pennant again for our outstanding efforts and achievements in terms of sustainability and social responsibility. If you want to help us look after the environment, please speak to a staff member about our recycling programme and pump out facilities.

As the temperatures rise, keeping the water of the Loosdrecht Lakes clean is paramount. Our staff has installed two swimming pools for our berth holders to enjoy on both sides of the marina. On the Interboat-side, you will find our raft, perfect for chilling and sun-bathing. Please keep our pontoons free so everyone can enjoy summer in the marina to he fullest. Looking for even more refreshment? The marina office is the place to be for cool drinks and ice cream!

Let us end with a short service announcement: as from August 15th our sanitary block on the Interboat-side will only be accessible by digit code. Berth holders will receive this code via e-mail or can request it in the marina office. This way we strictly reserve our facilities for the use of our clients.

We wish you a splendid season and hope to see you soon in the marina!

Around the world with Jachthaven Wetterwille

On February 19, sixteen-year-old Tamara Beekman will depart on the journey of a lifetime and we’re joining her. So to speak. Together with 29 other students, Tamara will sail a two-master from Saint Martin to Cuba. During a 45-day voyage through the Caribbean, she will learn how to navigate, collaborate and study aboard the Wylde Swan, aided by the expert crew and teachers of organisation Masterskip.

Because we believe in the power of dreams and of water sports, Jachthaven Wetterwille decided to sponsor Tamara’s trip. In return, she will share her Caribbean adventures with us on social media so keep your eyes on our Facebook and Instagram pages. We wish Tamara an unforgetable time and hope to go sailing with her in Loosdrecht some time next summer.

Keep your head cool

Because of the ongoing heat, the marina has been even more busy than usual these last couple of weeks. Ice cream supplies swindled, the terraces of our restaurants were always full and our staff built a unique swimming platform for berth holders that can be found in front of pontoon A at the Interboat side. Despite previous concern, we can happily assure everyone that no blue algae have been found in the waters of Loosdrecht.

Swimming in the lake is thus 100% safe.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to drop by our (relatively cool) marina office. Enjoy the last of these hot summer days!

Safety first

As a 5 Gold Anchor marina, Jachthaven Wetterwille gives safety the utmost priority. Our buildings and grounds are secured by CCTV 24/7 and our gates keep unsollicited visitors at bay. Nonetheless, theft of boats and outboard engines is still a reality in many marinas. Therefore we gladly share some tips with you that may help you keep what's yours safe:

  • Lock your outboard engine and/or boat. If your berth does not yet have cleats or rings big enough for your lock, please inform us and we will gladly install them for you. If you do secure the boat, please provide a spare key to keep in the marina office in case of any calamity.
  • Register your boat and engine. This will help the authorities on their way in case of theft. Just fill in the registration card via www.politie.nl and you will always have the necessary details at hand.
  • Take pictures of your boat and engine. This will make finding them a lot easier.
  • Report any case of theft to the local police. Spotted suspicious behaviour and not sure how to handle? Inform a member of our staff. Together we can make the marina even safer.

    Jachthaven Wetterwille makes the news

The winter season has started, but things at Jachthaven Wetterwille are everything but quiet.
The winter storage is in full swing and we are able to look back upon a successful summer with various innovations in and around the marina. The local and international press apparently caught wind of our hard work. This week, local media outlet GooiTV paid us a visit to interview marina manager Mieke about the ongoing storage activities. You can watch the fragment here from 3:14 onward.

Meanwhile, the marina also got featured in the September issue of Fore & Aft, the magazine of The Yacht Harbour Association. The article relates how our team combines environmental awareness with creativity and craftsmanship in the form of upcycling. You can check it out for yourself here on page 62.
We hope you enjoy reading it and wish you a cosy winter.

5 Gold Anchors for the third time in a row

We are honoured and extremely pleased to share that Jachthaven Wetterwille has once again been awarded 5 Gold Anchors by The Yacht Harbour Association. This quality label is the highest of its kind and ranks us among the best marinas worldwide. We received the top score for the third time in a row, an extra reason to be proud!

While summer may be drawing to a close, the boating season is not over yet, as September has wonderful things in store.
From September 22 to 24, the annual Dijkfestival will be held in Loosdrecht, with music and fun activities for young and old, both on water and ashore. The parade of lights featuring beautifully illuminated boats will sail the Loosdrecht and Vuntus Lakes on Saturday night. An event not to be missed!

20 years Blue Flag at Wetterwille

On May 18th, Jachthaven Wetterwille received the Blue Flag on the beach in Scheveningen. We accepted this eco-label together with 121 other marinas and 61 beaches.

As one of only 17 marinas, we were also awarded the Green Pennant for our outstanding efforts in environmental issues and awareness.

Jachthaven Wetterwille first joined the Blue Flag campaign in 1998, which makes this the 20th consecutive year that we won the award. In addition, Blue Flag Netherlands celebrates its 30th anniversary. Cause for a celebration and the start of an even greener future!

The start of Summer at Jachthaven Wetterwille

The new season has officially started and we're already looking forward to a Summer full of water fun. We're happy to share some of the latest innovations in the marina with you.

The most charming update can most definitely be admired in our marina office. The bow of BM "De Liefde", a small wooden sailboat typical for the region, was transformed into a unique counter. The stern will in turn be repurposed into a sleeping bunk with convertible roof, in which you will soon be able to spend the night on top of the green roof over our showroom. Camping under the stars in an old sailboat overlooking the Loosdrecht Lakes, it doesn't get any more romantic than this.

Slightly less exciting, but just as interesting is our new slipway at the Interboat side of the marina. The slipway now runs further into the water and the slope was decreased for maximum user friendliness. Pier B on the Wetterwille side also got an upgrade. We replaced decking in several places and provided new cleats.

As most of the boats are in the water waiting for the weather to pick up, we can hardly wait for Summer to begin. See you soon at the marina.

Each year, we support various charity organisations in the Netherlands and beyond. At the start of the summer season, we gladly inform you of the projects the marina is currently involved in.

    Hospital in Gambia

Jachthaven Wetterwille recently donated medical supplies to Brikama Health Centre in the Gambia, where Eveline, daughter of general manager Mieke, is volunteering as a midwife. In previous years, we sponsored a clinic in Tanzania and a home for street children in South Africa and acted as ambassador for Oxfam Novib, which supports entrepreneurs in the Third World through micro-financing.

    Waterfun for everyone

We believe that water sports should be available to everyone. That's why Jachthaven Wetterwille gives a discount to wheelchair users wishing to rent our specially equipped lounge pontoon. We are collaborating with local nursing home De Beukenhof for the second year in a row and now also facilitate free sailing for cancer patients through a charity called VaarKracht.

From water sports to just plain sports

Always happy to show our sporty side, we are proud to announce that Jachthaven Wetterwille is the official sponsor of the Belgian veteran judo team at the European Championship for Judo Masters in Porec, Croatia. We wish the whole team good luck with their training and hope they bring back a medal or two in June. Keep an eye on our website for more updates!

    What's new

    Refurbished restaurant

On July 1st, our beloved restaurant In de Watertuin reopened its doors under new management. Harry van der Pas and his wife Joyce are dying to get to know you and serve you delicious food and drinks. We at Wetterwille all look forward to trying the new menu, but we also want to thank Leon for his 19 years of service!

    New pier

The biggest news this summer is the refurbishment of Piers E and F on the Wetterwille side of the marina. These two piers are being renewed completely to make room for more berths. We are finishing several sloop berths with fingerpiers as well as some berths for smaller boats. The new spaces have already been assigned and the piers are expected to be fully occupied by mid April.

    SUP center

In the showroom on the Interboat parking lot, SUP center ikSUP will open its doors come spring. Here, you will be able to rent gear and/or book lessons. The new center will be the place to be for fans of paddleboarding and anyone up to try this trendy water sport.

    Gym

The gym above our dry-stack hangar is already frequented by a couple of sporty berth holders. If you are also interested in getting fit while enjoying a beautiful view over the marina, please come by the marina office for more info. Use of the gym is totally free for our customers, so there goes your last excuse.

As a marina with 5 Gold Anchors, the Blue Flag and the Green Pennant (an additional award for outstanding environmental practices we received last year), we are constantly looking for improvement. If you have any suggestions or remarks, please feel free to send us an e-mail or drop by the office.

We look forward to a beautiful season and hope to see you soon in the marina!
